Dreams are unhindered aspirations in a world of endless possibilities. In a world where gravity does not exist. Where there are no restrictions. In a world where no one says no to our requests, where proposals are granted, applications are successful and manifestations happen in a flash without an opposing force. No miscarriage, no failure, no rejection mail. Dreaming is beautiful but our ability to keep dreaming reduces as we age, with the number of rejections and disappointments we get. The more stones a cutlass hits in the course of its assignment, the blunter it becomes. Same with the human mind.
More than we realize we are lost in the pursuit of ‘serious’ and realistic things and we forget to dream. We lost our wings as we age and our aspirations plummet because we grow in logic and the reasons why we wouldn't succeed become more visible every day. I didn't realize this until recently. That life is more predictable and monotonous, and that I'm more careful and conscious than I used to be. I have less ideas to execute. I've been less excited too. I'm just there, as a slave of obligation trying to survive and keep my head above the waters. Many adults are in this stage. They struggle everyday with broken wings. They avoid the deep ends of the ocean and don't ever try to fly.
Why should you dream again?
Dreams make people live longer because they have something to look up to. It makes them happy and excited because they can't wait for the next possibility to happen. It increases their drive and enthusiasm about life. It reduces stress and makes them engage with the elements and resources of life productively. People who don't have dreams are quiet and withdrawn. They do not feel they're worth anyone's good time. Their world shrinks every day because no life is growing there. No flowers, no sunshine, no breeze, no colors. You will discover that dreamers are talkatives. They can't wait to sit you down and download their next idea. Talking and sharing with people is therapeutic. It makes our burden feel lighter. No wonder the biblical Joseph ran into trouble trying to explain what he saw. He can't help it! Dreamers have no time for bitterness, they are busy trying to figure out their next move, talk to the person, write the next email, submit the next application, meet the next prospect, or create the next product. And because they are always hands-on and minds on. They don't entertain frivolities.
How to mend your broken wings
1. Rediscover your passion : Think about the things you used to love. Activities you used to enjoy, chores and devotion that gives you a sense of fulfilment and happiness. You have probably forgotten. Life sure interrupts us but dig out those things and reconnect with them.
2. Surround yourself with positive influences: The people we surround ourselves with and engage with daily are important to the elasticity of our mind and worldview. If your circle lacks vibe and is drab, they will inspire discouragement and lack of enthusiasm.
3. Set new goals: New pursuits have a way of firing up our engines. It places a demand on our resources to create new things. New goals makes us forget what didn't work and focus on what could work. No one makes a goal that was not set. And don't create new goals in your mind alone. Write it down.
4. Travel to see something new: Environment is powerful. It refreshes and energizes. It's one of the most important ways of fixing a broken wing, catching fresh air, and seeing things differently.
5. Practice gratitude: If you take the goodness around you for granted. You will lose them. Or better put, they will be lost on you. Lack of gratitude isolates us from the blessing that is already present and apparent beauty. Take note of the things that are happening for you. Your world will become fuller and more beautiful.
6. Practice the ‘no challenge’ activity: If you're an adult, you're most likely more careful than you should be. You see more challenges than possibilities. To solve this problem, write down your goals as if your challenges do not exist. As if money was not a problem. As if you're not too young, as if you had time, as if you have a car, as if you have all the necessary resources and constraints do not exist. These are the clogs in the wheel of your dream. Now turn your dream into a goal and write out a plan to achieve these goals. Think, research, ask questions and start chipping it gradually
7. Seek professional help: Talk to a professional, a therapist, or a mindfulness coach. If you've tried everything or if you can't help yourself to dream again.

This is so inspiring. I can do it, i can achieve my dreams. I CAN
I can relate with this because I have a journey planned out for sometime next month, nothing spectacular but then I have something to look forward to and I'm except about it anyway.
