About two weeks ago, I shared with my community about one of the most muscle-tightening, heart-knotting phenomena called the ‘New Year’ It's a futuristic concept in the subconscious where most people keep all of their plans and possibilities while halting their present decisions and efforts. Most people believe quite strongly that the New Year is an unusually fertile ground, that whatever you put in it automatically germinates just because it is new. We have a destructive obsession with newness because of our desire to escape the unfolding episode of our current reality. We want to escape the responsibility of today because we feel that once we arrive at the threshold of tomorrow, things become new. I wish this is true but it's not.
The same thing applies to the new year. Everything around us points to a brand-new year. Companies are rounding up their activities, businesses are closing down, people are relaxed and everyone is coming out of eateries with white bags. Everywhere is beaming with bright lights and loud music is taking over the streets. Everyone is talking about a clean slate.
Our minds get the signals, review all of this information, and respond by shutting down hoping that the new year is coming.
Calendars introduces new dates only for the purpose of planning. Not for you to suspend your plans because it is November or December. Your company might be closing for the year but you don't have to shut down your creative and productive tunnels. This could be your best season to create.
Calendars and seasons help you recalibrate, not for you to wait and say
“I will do it in the new year”
“I will start next year”
No, please. All that waiting is a scam! If you need to create something then do it now. Make the move now. Start the course now etc
Even though we have a unified calendar, we don't have a unified assignment.
There's nothing wrong with taking the break everyone was given at your place of work. But don't let your mind take that break. Ideas don't have special seasons to engage them. A man's Chi rises anytime he rises (Igbo proverb)
Sleep tonight, wake up tomorrow morning and tell yourself “Happy New Year” because it is.
Do not postpone a good plan because of the new year!
Life is not a festival that you wait for other people to join you for. Don't put your plans off because of one
“Happy New Year” midnight shout in church.
Your new beginning is what you say it is. It could be the next hour after reading this piece.
You can stay up tonight and do your cross-over prayers. And God will be present to answer your request and welcome you to the new season of your life, family, or career!
Every day we wake from bed, we have a new opportunity and a new chance. God gives us a blank cheque to sign. Don't accept the fact that you have to wait for a congregational anointing on the 31st before you have the license to start.
No, please. No.
Eat the Yuletide chicken but don't give your plans a break waiting for the new year. Call the people you should call today, set up the committee for your next event, write the outline for your book now, and register for that program now
It is new because you say it is.
I’d love to read from you. Let me know if this blesses you.
Have an amazing week and breakthrough from within

Always thought provoking. It's why I am reading this now instead of later.
