When I was a kid, my mum got a neighbourhood carpenter to make plywood boxes to help me and my brothers keep our money. These boxes helped us to collect money we didn't need since most of our needs were catered for. We do not need to buy food, clothes, or shoes. These boxes are customarily opened in December to buy something more tangible than sweets and cookies. Without these boxes, we wouldn't realise how rich we are and how much money has passed through our hands. The same thing for moulds
Moulds are prefabricated containers that are built to collect molten/hot material to make shapes. Using the mould system will help you to execute any plan you have regardless of how busy and occupied you are.
Most people will never get anything done regardless of their genuine desire and apparent capacity. They are brilliant, smart, and creative but they won't create products at the level of their resourcefulness. And this is not because they are lazy or unintentional, it is because they are busy and occupied with work and several activities and engagements.
A lot more people want to write their memoirs, learn painting, take a course on speaking, etc. They have a 9-5, family to cater to, engaged in their local community, busy at church, an executive member in a local club, a member of about three online communities, etc. How do you get things done when everyone and everything consistently makes demands on your time?
“We do not know how much time, resources, money, and energy we have until we trap them into a mould” And most times we are more bothered about how much time we have to do something than actually doing it. The challenge most of the time is not the lack of time, it's the lack of clarity about what we want to do. Moulds are shapes, they represent the goals that collect our time, focus, energy, scripts , money, practice and contribution depending on what we want to achieve. As a writer, the mould is the most important part of my project. It's the outline of my book or article, it's the shape that my muse will fill. Most people disregard or commonize and ridicule what the little time they have can achieve. 20 minutes of reading a day, 15 minutes of mindfulness practice, 30 minutes of exercise.
Moulds employ the principle of compound interest as soon as you are clear about the shape you want to create. As a writer, the first thing I do is to create an outline, the structure of my book, and what I want to fill it with.
Moulds collect my inspiration, illustration, examples, ideas, humour, and explanations to make a shape. Most people undermine the traffic of ideas in their minds because there's no capturing system. Their genuine commitments overshadow what could be done while they are busy. Without moulds, we'd waste time on the bus, the time on the train, the time waiting in the lounge to meet an important person.
Not having spare time is a mirage. It is not true that all your time is blocked. Create a mould and plan to deposit into the mould each time you have time to spare even if it is once a week! Moulds help us to trap these times and convert the resources into a desired shape. If this works for me as a creative person, it can work for you to achieve anything you want to achieve as a busy person who does not have a lot of spare time.
Moulds take away pressure from creativity. What could take a few months could take a year. You're not under pressure to create or deliver. Your focus is to convert your resources into products every time you have them. At your pace.
Moulds bring clarity. You know exactly what you want to create. The shape is here all you have to do is fill it. The most important element in creativity is knowing what you are filling, writing, sewing, designing, etc. and that is what the mould system of work does!
