I believe there’s purpose in our design. We don’t just do what we do, we don’t just like them. It’s because our actions most of the time are tied to purpose. I’ve met too many people who make me come to this conclusion. Your affinity points to something. Your thought pattern and your preferences agree to a purpose.
You don’t just like speaking, organizing, going out, colors, order, design, writing, selling, teaching, helping people, numbers, music, editing, telling stories. No you didn’t. Those are responses to a DESIGN.
Every design is different. Different in colours, shape, character, functionality, etc No feature or element in a design is useless. Everything SERVES a purpose. The most basic response to the things you catch yourself doing is to ask yourself, “Why do I do what I do?”
People don’t pay attention. They randomize their attributes. I know someone who will fix everything in my house in 24 hours when he arrives. Including the things I didn’t know is broken. I know someone (in heaven) who reduces everything to a melody. I know someone who sees the world ONLY through the lens of kindness. Start thinking about the people in your life and their affinities. You’d see proof!
Some people believe the answer to every question in this world is in the kitchen. “There’s a kidnapping in Eluku” Their response would be “Maybe the terrorists are hungry, let’s cook for them” and I’m not joking. I can go forever for everyone in my life!
Many times I hate to disturb your timeline with these kinds of insights and post. No I don’t think I’m smarter than anyone but where do I keep the whispering in my ears? I’ve written a Substack post every day this week and I have over 29 drafts. If that is not DESIGN, tell me what it is. Design doesn’t mean you are trying to impress people, you are simply expressing the attributes of your design.
So many people shut down their expression just because other people are threatened by their design. Any environment that does not permit you to live your design is a destructive one. Leave. Environment should enhance design not fight it.
Have a flashback, you’ve been hungry, stranded, and talked out of many things but you’re still there! You hate to go back but you still find yourself there. That’s design. You can’t run from design. Once *Eleda* agrees to say, “This is what I made you for “ you can run around the earth but you will come back to the design.
